I’ll only be writing short quick weekend posts. (I intend to stay in the mode of “playing my way to prosperity” along with all of you.)

In this coming week we are going to be emphasizing the power of words and the power of choosing.

So, for your weekend assignment:

Hello Dear Ones!

First, I want you all to know how much you inspire and amaze me. I was just reviewing some of the posts from all of you and I got a bit teary.

The clear, un-diluted, un-compromising energy behind the posts touched me in a very deep place.

Note: If you haven’t read your fellow experimenter’s posts, visit the comments connected to our previous posts. At the top right of each post by me there is a link to read ‘comments’ by other readers. Be sure to do so as the contributed wisdom is the best part of the experiment.

Today, Day 4, I promised you that we’d be coaching you to greater energetic alignment with your definitions of ‘prosperity.’

As we stated yesterday, you’ve all listened to prosperity ‘talk’ for decades, and now you are ready to shift some energy!

So, for starters, I want you to grab your personal definition of prosperity (Inspired Action Day 1) and review it for a moment.

Don’t just ‘read’ it…’feel’ it.

How does reading this make you ‘FEEL’?

You see, prosperity has everything to do with what you’re feeling.

The Universe/ Law of Attraction / The ‘Secret’ operate on energetic frequencies and your point of prosperity attraction is directly correlated with how you are ‘feeling’ at any moment.

And your definition of ‘prosperity’ is something that will either inspire you to create exactly what you want or leave you feeling painfully diminished because it seems so out of reach.

Here are some typical ways that people mis-create in their quest for ‘prosperity’…

I. Limited to the ‘Bucks’

If your definition of prosperity is solely about money, you may achieve your monetary goals without ever having a fleeting experience of ‘prosperity’.

In one telephone survey, 275 people in the San Francisco Bay area were asked if they believed that they would be significantly happier and more loving if they had a million dollars. Seventy-six percent of the respondents replied, ‘Yes. Absolutely.’ Then the research company contacted ten millionaires, and asked them, ‘Did making your first million dollars make you a happier or more loving person?’ The response was unanimous: ‘No.’ (from Dan Millman’s Manage Your Money: Sufficiency and Spiritual Practice)

So, if your definition was primarily about having acquisitions, we’d love to have you add to that, ’so that I can enjoy my life to the fullest.’

II. All about the ‘Others’

Conversely – if your definition of prosperity is limited in focus as to how much you’ll be able to do for others, your definition may not serve you as well as it could.

Instead of getting trapped in the duality of ’selfish’ or ’self-less,’ why not try the concept of ’self-full’ on for a change.

As we are reminded every time we get on a plane, ‘if you are with a child and the oxygen masks descend, first put your own mask on before seeking to help others.’

The same is true of prosperity.

We must first be an energetic match to drawing the prosperity in before we can create the foundations that will enable us to effectively circulate our good.

If your definition of prosperity has been about giving it all away, consider the multitude of ways in which your personal abundance might inspire others to live more ‘generously’ and ’self-fully’ simultaneously.

III. Outside-In

If your definition of prosperity is based on a list of things that need to change/resolve or improve before you can feel prosperous, your definition is not serving you as well as it could.

For example, if prosperity means: ‘having X number of dollars show up so that I can finally be the person I truly want to be’ we’d like to have you turn that around and define prosperity as: giving myself permission to be who I truly want to be under any and all conditions.

IV. Futurizing

If your definition of prosperity is future-focused (as in according to your definition you could not legitimately feel ‘prosperous’ today) it is not serving you as well as it could.

When you ‘futurize,’ you reinforce the gap between where you are and where you want to be. In effect, you keep that gap alive (sort of like holding a carrot and stick always just ahead of the poor horse.)

If your definition of prosperity limits you from feeling prosperous until ‘x’ happiness, we’d like to have you turn that around with a definition that focused upon accepting (and, hopefully celebrating) the present while having hopeful expectations about the future.

V. Coming from lack or ‘againstness’

If your definition of prosperity is coming from lack or ‘againstness’ it is not serving you as well as it could.
As whatever we ‘resist persists,’ we’ll find ourselves moving more deeply into the mud and muck if our definition of prosperity is based in lack or ‘againstness’.

If, for example, your definition of prosperity revolves around ‘getting rid of debt,’ of ‘being free of an unpleasant relationship’ or ‘never having to work’ we’d like you to turn it around so that your focus becomes ‘an abundance of resources,’ ‘fulfilling work’ and/or ‘relationships that nurture and inspire you.’

VI. Feels ‘inspiring’ vs. feeling ‘frustrated’

Finally, if your definition of prosperity makes you feel: excited, inspired, empowered, connected, free, loving and abundant – it’s a keeper!

Anything less than a set of feelings like the ones above, and we’d suggest that you go back to the drawing board!

Inspiring Definitions

So what does an empowering and magnetic definition of prosperity look and feel like?

Webster’s New World Dictionary defines prosperity in the following way: “to flourish, to grow vigorously, succeed, thrive, to be at the peak of development, peak of activity, peak of influence, etc.”

Just reading that jazzes me!

It includes many of the points that I encourage my personal clients to include in their own definitions of prosperity:

~ Do include and go beyond financial accumulation (as there is no point in being rich but not happy.)

~ Do focus on ‘being’ instead of ‘having’

~ Do focus on the way you want to feel (about life, about future possibilities, about your Self)

~ Do define ‘prosperity’ expansively – possibly including: enhancing experiences in careers, in intimate relationships, with family, with creativity and adventures.

When you trace back to the root of the word prosperity you find the verb ‘to prosper.’ Then it becomes absolutely clear that we need to be talking about the way you intend to experience life rather than having prosperity be a tool for external measure.

When you create your own definition of prosperity, you become very clear about what you intend to draw forth from life!

So, are you ready to create prosperity — from the inside-out?

Life is an experiment. How delicious!

It must be true as hundreds of you have dived right in to the “Play Your Way to Prosperity Experiment’ — signing up for the special daily list, completing the survey, sharing your wisdom on the Blog.

The depth of desire that has been revealed in the survey and on the Blog is considerable.

We’ve gotten a strong start and we’re going to keep amping up the energy.

Here’s what I’m learning about ‘you’ from reading your survey responses and Blog posts:

‘Law of Attraction’, Deliberate Creation, ‘Prosperity Consciousness’ – these topics are not new to you.

Judging by the list of favorite teachers, you are a well-read bunch. (I suspect that you have also logged significant mileage traveling to workshops and seminars and you’ve burnt out your fair share of batteries listening to guided meditations and 4-set CDs.)

For the most part, you KNOW this stuff. You can talk about it in groups. You can explain it very well. Many of you use what you know to uplift others — and you are good at it!

However…each of you found yourself drawn to this experiment because you are ready (truly ready) to make a shift to a deeper level of “knowing.”

Not everyone’s shifts will look the same. They don’t need to.

We’re all in this together but we’ve not been on the same page.

This ‘experiment’ is very personal. It is really all about YOU coming to a deeper level of faith and trust inside YOU.

And so, as YOU have a very unique ‘agenda’ for this experiment, it is most appropriate for each of you to set the stage and formally ask the Universe to bring you the type of ‘evidence’ that will be most meaningful to you.

Inspired Action for Day 3: Your Challenge to the Universe

There are several ways that you can issue this challenge. You can state it out loud, write it in your journal, send it off in an email or post it in publicly on our Blog.

The important thing is that you let the Universe know (loud and clear) that you are ‘asking’ — and then you commit to become very open and very alert as you prepare to ‘receive’.

Here is an example of what you might write:

Dear ____________ (Universe, God, Goddess, Higher Self – use your favorite term)

~ I want to believe that I can affect the prosperity that shows up in my life.

~ I want to experience that prosperity can come from unexpected sources.

~ I want to believe that good things can come to me through ‘play’ and ‘flow’ rather than only through hard work.

~ I want evidence that there is a practical strategy around creating prosperity that provides tangible results.

~ I want evidence that the idea of ‘creating prosperity from the inside-out’ is not just wishful thinking.

I am asking for observable and quantifiable proof that I can attract more prosperity within the next four weeks.

I am open to this prosperity arriving and taking the form of:

~ unexpected money coming into my life this month
~ unexpected gifts coming my way this month
~ clear inspiration leading me to new opportunities
~ a feeling of relief from fear, stress, sadness or discomfort
~ …..

I am ready for a breakthrough. I am ready to see things in a different way.

And so it is! / Amen / Namaste
